Welcome to the work in progress section. This area will be updated periodically and will show projects that are currently in development. Just check the screenshot on the iMac screen on the home page from time to time to see what's new. The current work in progress is for a building maintenance company called Total Maintenance
Contracts LTD. They wanted an initial concept which I was given free reign over. I decided to look around at other building maintenance companies and found the design of the sites was poor and looked cheap which I felt gave a bad first impression to potential clients. I decided to go with a very slick, clean, sharp and professional feel rather like a
large multinational company. Their logo was already designed and so I used the blue and grey colour scheme to give a professional and business like feel. The clients have large ambitions to branch their business interests out into other areas such as the leisure and entertainment industry so the 't' in their logo would act as an umbrella icon for all
their businesses like Virgin for example. So I kept this in mind when designingtheir home page and went big. I used a 3D model of a city and rendered a view that incorporated large sky scrapers and much smaller buildings to show that they cater for all, from large contracts to individual domestic renovation work. I feel it's important to
convey a strong sense of professionalism as selecting the right builder can be a mine field. The use ofclean lines, reflections and a multi - national business feel in my opinion sends out a strong message of trust, professionalism and reliability which I think are very important traits when it comes to choosing a building company.
The navigation is a simple strip but creates the feeling of a building's internal wall structure by being 3D. As the site progresses I'll add more screenshots and rationales to explain the thought process behind the design. The clients are pleased with the initial concept and only require minor alterations thus far. Watch out for the finished site soon.
